Tasmania stood out with a minimum price of minus $1,000/MWh at 10:50 and 9.2 negative price hours, while also recording the highest price of $490/MWh at 10:00. Renewables provided 48.3 per cent of energy, reaching an instantaneous peak of 74.8 per cent at 13:10, while batteries discharged 16,608 MWh. New South Wales registered the demand peak of 8,884 MW at 17:40, while South Australia and Victoria recorded 8.0 and 5.3 negative price hours respectively. Frequency control ancillary services totalled $683,976, driven by Tasmania recording a RAISE6SEC peak of $23,190/MW and a RAISEREG peak of $4,606/MW.
AEMO issued a direction to AGL SA Generation for the Torrens Island B4 unit in South Australia. The market operator issued notices for a foreseeable intervention event in the South Australian region from 10:00 on 27 September 2026. AEMO placed prices for six consecutive trading intervals between 15:50 and 16:20 under review.

Brent Crude fell 2.1 per cent to US$104.32 a barrel. Natural gas declined 3.1 per cent to US$3.20 per million British thermal units. TTF gas dropped 4.0 per cent to EUR72.07/MWh.
